In anticipation of the Gulf of Mexico Workshop on International Research, Harte Research Institute is developing a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary inventory of marine ecosystem science focused on the southern Gulf of Mexico. The goal of this inventory, developed in conjunction with Mexican and Cuban scientists, is to inform about the current state of the science in the southern Gulf, and identify gaps, which will help inform discussions and planning during the workshop, and into the future.
The inventory will be composed of annotated listings of resources of Mexican or Cuban origin including:
The scope for these categories is inclusive. For example, “research programs” may include coordinated activities at any scale, and “publications” does not mean simply peer-reviewed literature, but “gray” literature, too. We note that this effort is not meant to collect actual materials like PDF files, but is simply looking to collect metadata about the existence of these products.
